Cult hero of all blacks Stephen Donald and his boots return to Eden Park on Friday night.

But this time he will line up shots to help former teammate Dan Carter in charity; did not receive the penalty that won the Rugby World Cup, which he scored ten years ago after a battered Carter was forced to leave the tournament due to injury.

Carter scored 1,598 points for the All Blacks in 12 years and 112 tests – and now he has an even higher goal.

This week, Carter will return to Eden Park and try to make 1598 shots on goal in 24 hours – without a break.

It is part of a charity event from his DC-10 Foundation, which has teamed up with UNICEF to raise money to provide clean water and sanitation for children in the Pacific.

And he won’t be trying to get to the holiday on his own – discovering a group of high-profile fans and potential super-sub-sub, including Dondald.

“I’ll have a few to push me, and a few footballers to score a goal or two,” Carter told the Sunday Herald.

“There will be Stephen Donald and he may have to come on as a replacement again if I get injured like at the 2011 World Cup.”

Donald was a notable absence from the All Blacks, which started the Rugby World Cup in 2011, and fell in favor of Colin Slade.

But when injuries displace Carter, Slade and then replace the last Aaron Cruden during the Cup final; In the victory over France with a score of 8-7 Donald came out and scored the decisive penalty.

Other ring-ins include former All Blacks Richie McCow and Mills Mulein, Olympic sailor Blair Tuck and former Black Ferns star Anna Richards.

“I trained for seven months, and a couple of days ago I kicked for six hours straight. I managed to score 800, but I went pretty fast, ”Carter said.

“I’m trying to score 1598 in 24 hours, that’s exactly how much I scored at All Blacks.

“I’m great at numbers, and that’s special to me.”

Carter was a UNICEF ambassador for seven years and saw firsthand the work of a charity abroad.

“One of the projects I was particularly passionate about was the Wash project, which provides clean water, sanitation and good hygiene in the Pacific Islands,” he said.

“This kikaton connects two things I enjoy: helping children and rugby.”

Carter, the father of 9-year-old Mark, 6-year-old Fox, 3-year-old Rocco and 10-month-old Cruz, said he wanted to create a level playing field for other children.

“Clean water is something we take for granted, and we see that our neighbors are Kiribati, where only 30 percent of schools have bathrooms.

“As a dad, I see how lucky my family is that we live this life, but it’s not for all children around the world.”

Carter’s sons helped him train by collecting throwing balls and setting up balls on tees for more shots on goal.

They will be supporting their dad at Kikaton, which starts at 7pm on Thursday, April 7th.

– After school they will go down.

Carter said that “they all really love football – it’s their sport.”

To achieve his goal, Carter said he would have to throw the ball over the racks every minute.

The official number will be summed up and the event will be broadcast live.

“It’s going to be pretty exhausting, so I’m going to hit most right under the goal to save my feet.

“If someone makes a crazy donation and asks for a corner or a banana, I’ll see what I can do.”

Carter said that if pain occurs, he will try to enter a meditative state.

“Kicking is my happy place, but kicking is hard after this time,” he said.

“When it gets hard, I’ll think of all the good things we can do with the money raised.”
