WELLINGTON, April 8 (Xinhua) – 9,906 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in New Zealand on Friday, the Ministry of Health said.
According to the ministry, 1,804 new infections have been detected in Auckland’s largest city.
In addition, 69 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected on the border with New Zealand, the ministry said.
There are currently 626 patients with COVID-19 in New Zealand hospitals, including 17 in intensive care units. The ministry also reported 10 more deaths from COVID-19 on Thursday.
New Zealand has reported 750,385 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in the country.
